Have any of our readers who collect New York silver seen examples of the work of Asa Ransom (1765-1825) working in the Buffalo/Clarence area, 1797-1812? He was granted a tract of land in what is now Clarence in 1799 on the promice he would build and operate a public tavern, though he apparently continued smithing as well. He is noted in Darling, but I have not found a recorded mark and would appreciate a pic if anyone can provide it. IP: Logged |
