Durgin's silver is often found with the retailer's marks of D.C. Jaccard & Co., and E. Mead & Co., both of St. Louis. IP: Logged |

William Durgin and Freeman Durgin may have been cousins or related some way because they are listed together in the 1850 U S Federal Census for Boston, Massachusetts. Both are 17 years of age and listed as silversmith. There is no one in the household old enough to be Freeman's master though. In case it is not already common knowledge, and it can probably be assumed anyway, Freeman A Durgin is listed as a silverplater in the 1880 U S Federal Census for St Louis, Missouri and in the 1890 St Louis City Directory.
