I have stumbled upon a new piece, that got my attention from across the room, They are a pair of Candle Wick Shears that have a decidedly Colonial appearence... They look coin, use a silver rivet to secure them rather than a screw, and have a hallmark I am unable to find (I will post a picture when Lisa can take it, still blind as a bat even with the new glasses). The mark is an "O" with a Horizontal Line through it, followed by a circle cartouch with what appears to be "HAR" in the top half of the cirle and "WOOD" in the bottom half followed by the same circle with the line through it.... I am wondering if I have a recent REPRO or something nice...? I seem to remember having seen this mark before or something simular... Can some help me with my senior moment.... :-) "Smaug" IP: Logged |

Wonderful, I will have Lisa photo it this afternoon and submit. I am pleased that the cost was not outrageous, and the workmanship is superb. Thanks WEV I also found a small salt spoon coffin end with “SF” in a rectangle, I am under the impression that it may be Samuel Ford, but I will also send a picture of it. I just got back from Cleveland where I stumbled on these treasures after I returned from Frankfort where I found some interesting European pieces I am still trying to persuade the owner to part with... :-) IP: Logged |
