I recently acquired two teaspoons with the following Greco-Roman pattern marked only 'coin'. Is anyone familiar with the pattern and by extension, the maker? thanks

I have a piece in the same pattern, but marked STERLING. Whoever made it, it appears to be from the coin/sterling transition period of the late 1860's. I have seen a couple of other pieces, but your is the first marked COIN. Only one of the pieces had any further marks, and that was "S.Y. & CO.". We are assuming that that was just a retailer, though. Sorry to not be more help, but at least you know you are not alone! Brent IP: Logged |
