I found several of these spoons in my father's estate and I cannot find any information on the name and mark in the only book I have on silver. I would really like to know a little history on the maker of these spoons. My email address is: carlraymon@aol.com

Thank you very much, Carl

I took the liberty of fiddling your image.

William Wallace Willard was born 16 Oct 1808 in Van Buren NY and died 8 Sep 1876, probably in Stracuse NY.

It is not known who he trained under, but he is first noted working from 1833 to 1835 with T. Stokes in Cazenovia NY as WILLARD & STOKES. Thereis a gap in the records until 1841 when he was working independantly in Syracuse. From 1844 to 1869 he worked in partnership with John Dean Hawley in Syracuse as WILLARD & HAWLEY (WILLARD, HAWLEY & Co after 1859).
