I also found several spoons marked Huntington in my father's estate. In my silver book, I found several makers with a mark Huntington, however, all used a first initial. The mark on these spoons does not have a first name initial. Please help me identify the maker and perhaps a general idea of when these spoons were made. IP: Logged |

Richard Huntington was born 15 Oct 1786 in Norwich CT and died 12 May 1855 in Utica NY. He first worked from 1811 to 1823 as a silversmith in Springfield MA. During this time he was also in partnership (c 1820-1823)with Jonathan Packard as HUNTINGTON & PACKARD. He moved to Utica in late 1823 and worked there until his death. He is known to have made goods for J. S. Porter, 1823-1836; James Murdock & Co and Horace Bradley, 1836-1838; N. N. Weaver, Murdock & Andrews, and O. B. Cooley, 1838-1843; and P. G. Tanner, 1842-1844. Your spoon shows his later, Utica era mark. IP: Logged |
