Having broken my own rule to not buy any other kind of spoon than tea, I could not resist a paper thin 31/2" coin salt spoon. It has a thumb sized bowl, pointed shoulders and slightly down turned end with no thickness. The mark is well made but a little rough, ie not a production job.

The mark is: .B. BIGELOW.
The first period makes me think there is an initial before the first B and the strike is faded out to the left.

Kovels and Ensko are thin on Bigelows, and thats it for my library!
Thanks in advance and image to follow some day...

There was a John B. Bigelow in Wilmington, Vermont in 1856. The period before the B in your mark may indicate the mark is incomplete.

Thanks Swarter, things got busy so I missed your reply.
The date seems right and that a J could be missing seems right to.
