abcddc92 Posts: 2 Registered: Feb 2005	posted 02-28-2005 05:18 PM I have a scalloped spoon that is marked Palmers & Bachelders. I have found info on Palmer and Bachelders - Boston but nothing with Palmer with an S on the end. Is this the same maker and if so would this be coins silver or sterling silver? Thank you!!! wev Moderator Posts: 4121 Registered: Apr 99	posted 02-28-2005 05:36 PM It was Palmers & Bachelders, made up of Jacob and Julius Palmer & Augustus and Josiah Bachelder, hence the plurals. The name was changed after 1865 to Palmer, Bachelder, & Company, though the partners remained the same. IP: Logged

Hoping soon to have in my hands an example of the single-Palmer mark in the same style as that image -- cut straight into the silver, not part of a rectangle (is that 'incuse'?).
