This unfortunately rather worn teaspoon has both the C O in diamonds manufacturer's mark and the incised C.OSKAMP retailer's mark of Clemens Oskamp (Cincinnati, working c. 1852-87).
The medallion is applied, and appears to show a period woman rather than the more typical (I think) classical figure. The pattern was shown by Albert Soeffling in a 1991 Silver magazine article (the engraving here is slightly different but the medallion appears to be the same). He described this pattern as "relatively scarce." Do others have more examples? IP: Logged |

My teaspoon medallion--the same as yours--is crisp, but I'm not skilled enough to post images. The C.O. has an outlined 5-pointed star after it--presumably a journeyman's mark. IP: Logged |
