Your basic undistinguished fiddleback spoon. Any thoughts? IP: Logged |

Hello Wev. Have no particular thoughts on the spoon, but could the silversmith Moody have any connection with Downing & Moody, or Moody & Kuner of Vicksburg Va. ? We, on the East Coast are having a very grey day. My basement is flooded. Jersey IP: Logged |

I tend to associate that style of punch with the midwest, although it does turn up elsewhere. No luck identifying this one, though. IP: Logged |

I've searched the U. S. Federal Censuses for N Moody using Nat**, Nic**, Nor**, Ned, Nea**, and jeweler, jeweller, jewelery, silversmith, silver smith, sil**, goldsmith, watchmaker, merchant, retailer, manufacturer, fancy goods and probably some other forgotten combinations with nothing to show for my efforts. Also tried U. S. Trademarks with the name to no avail. My first thought is that this might be canadian but coming from the dilettante silver person that I am, that doesn't mean much. Be interesting to hear what anyone else may have on this person. [This message has been edited by bascall (edited 07-26-2007).] IP: Logged |
