The top photo is the milled band on the bottom of a mustard pot with the mark of James Conning of Mobile. That is the only mark on this piece. Many of Conning pieces came from Wood and Hughes and have either the W&H mark or a journeyman's mark (usually a half moon) in addition to the Conning mark. It will be interesting to see if this banding turns up on other pieces. IP: Logged |
