Here is an article referenced in Flynt, Henry and Fales, Martha Gandy's, "The Heritage Foundation Collection of Silver." concerning property of Joseph Warner. Pennsylvania Gazette, Wilmington, September 25, 1775. "Three Pounds Reward." Stolen out of the house of the subscriber , living in the Borough of Wilmington, on the morning of the 22nd inst, Five Silver Table Spoons, four them without any letter on them, save the initials of the maker's name IW, the fifth remarkabley old fashoined , marked AMH on the end of the handle. Any person that shall stop the said spoons, send the owner notice therof, that he may get them again, shall have Twenty Shillings, and for the thief and spoons, the above reward of Three punds, paid by Joseph Warner. It's nice to have a silversmith attest to his own mark to whatever degree. IP: Logged |
