Unless I've overlooked something, which happens too often, Nathaniel Olmstead is not credited with working in Hartford. However, here is the mark from a handful of fiddle pattern spoons that has Hartford marked adjacent to the bowl. There may be other explanations for the Hartford being on these spoons, but here it is anyway:

Just part of today's foraging which was actually pretty slim.

The P with an eagle or star in attributed by McGrew to John and Walter Pitkin of Hartford, while Olmstead was in New Haven. It could be that Pitkin just put his city on the piece before he sold the spoons to Olmstead.

Most likely Pitkin was the retailer of a spoon made by Olmstead.
