maybe another is John Hicks listed as a silversmith in Rockingham County, VA in 1783 and again 1784 and 1789...? IP: Logged |

and another Berisford, Thomas and Catherain McGovern on Sept, 29th 1868 (married) Jefferson County (WV previously VA) Husband 31, wife 23, neither previously married, husband born in Ireland, wife from NY, both lived in Jeffersin County at the time , and occupation was a Silversmith... Ken, wev's list is not all-inclusive, although it may seem so. It is based on genealogical relationships of silversmiths largely in the North East (New England and New York. It does not (yet) delve deeply into the Southern, Mid Atlantic, or Midwestern states. IP: Logged |

As Swarter says, my project is a single tree study, though bramble may be more accurate. It is something of an arbitrary conceit, but gives me a measure of structure to build on. Unfortunately, it also precludes the inclusion of many very fine silversmiths and workers whose lines never crossed in (as far as discovered). Maybe I need to start a new anti-project, with all the makers who are not related. IP: Logged |
