Hi again, From the same house as the St. Thomas Spoons, I picked this up and was unable to track it down in all my available databases. Is this "Garratt" just a spelling variation of Garrett, or is it for real? I have not polished the spoon yet, so the brown spots are really there. Any ideas? Thanks once more. Marc IP: Logged |

You used garratt1.jpg, rather than Garrett1.jpg; the photobucket addresses are case sensitive, so must be exact to work. I would suggest copying the [img] format address in the 'share this photo' area directly. IP: Logged |

There is a Richard Garrett listed in the 1850 Morris, New York census as a silversmith. He may be too late for your spoon. Family members say he was born in Burlington, New York in 1813, and he is listed in later census's as physician. I find no Garratt's or anything similar in the U.S. Virgin Islands Census, 1835-1911 (Danish Period). IP: Logged |
