I often receive inquires about folks in my little project. Today, I heard from a descendant of Robert William Pitkin, born 29 Nov 1879 to William Forbes and Cynthia (Gager) Pitkin in Coventry CT. As is my habit, I ran a quick calculation of his relationship to the various silversmiths, jewelers, watchmakers, etc. in my tree. If anyone doubts the interconnectedness of the trades and families involved, I could post here the 2,806 names on the list produced, starting with his grandfather, John Owen Pitkin and stretching out and back to several generations before the Revolution. One could certainly enjoy a long, rich pastime putting together an example collection. IP: Logged |
