I just received (as a birthday gift) a large server by Joseph Seymour & Son. Beyond identifying the marks I haven't been able to find out much information about the company. Can anyone direct me to any resources? Thanks IP: Logged |

Joseph Seymour & Co. was from Syracuse, NY. The company was around in one form or another from approximately 1851 to 1909. The exact mark on your pieces would help for dating, but if it says Joseph Seymour & Co., it would date between 1851-1887; Joseph Seymour, Sons & Co dates it between 1887-1900; and Joseph Seymour Manufacturing Co. (id'd as a capital S between two stars) dates from 1900-1909. IP: Logged |
