Has anyone seen a mark with this name? I would swear I have, but just can't bring it to the fore. The maker is Elias Gardner Burdick (1786-1867) of Alfred NY.

McGrew has one listing for a Burdick under the Star-S-Eagle mark for the Joseph Seymour & Co. Burdick is listed as a retailer and the object McGrew saw was also marked Premium and the manufacturer’s mark was in a rectangular cartouche. McGrew has a question mark for when Burdick was working and where he was located.
Today Burdick, in my mind, conjures up a craving for chocolate as the L. A. Burdick Chocolate Company makes the best in my opinion.

That would be, in all likelihood, Elias' son, John Collins Burdick, a jeweler, watchmaker, and engraver, who advertised "silver wares from all the best sources." He, like his father, worked in Albert until the mid 1880s, when he moved to Hornell NY where he worked at his trade until his death in 1904.
