[01-1000] Here's an old pattern. Many of the pieces are in worn condition but I don't recognize the hallmark, or name. Sterling on the back Giles, Bro and Co. When I first saw it I that it might be your pattern Gibney

Giles Bro & Co was established in 1860 by Charles K and William A Giles in Chicago, IL at No. 142 Lake St. Just prior to relocating to Chicago Charles and William opened and operated a successful retail and wholesale jewelry store in Prairie Du Chien, WI. The brothers are descended from early settlers of Worcester County, MA. This information is from the book History of Chicago From The Earliest Period To Present Time by A T Andreas. An earlier posting was done by the moderator Brent about Giles Bro & Co. This posting is intended to add information about Giles Bro and not discount any previous threads. Just to top off this old thread, the pattern at the top was made by Krider & Biddle of Philadelphia. You usually see it with their KB trademark. It probably had a name, but is lost to the winds of time. Brent [This message has been edited by Brent (edited 04-16-2008).] IP: Logged |
