It's somewhere in South Eastern/South Central Pennsylvania - I forget exactly where - maybe Reading or Harrisburg? BTW the spelling is Housel [This message has been edited by swarter (edited 04-04-2014).] IP: Logged |

The 1850 U S Federal Census for Milton, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania lists a Jacob Housel who was born in New Jersey in about 1786 and whose occupation was watchmaker. The U.S. IRS Tax Assessment Lists for 1863 lists a J K Housel in Milton, Pennsylvania who paid taxes for dentistry. The 1860 U S Census shows Jacob in Milton with no occupation. Thanks for the replies. I wrote the name down from memory. Sounds like not much is known about his silver work. IP: Logged |
