I have a very nice brightcut spoon with the mark of IB that I'm trying to accurately identify. There are quite a few makers that used IB - but as of yet my research has been unable to uncover this exact match. The I has a slight wave at the top, and the "tails" on the B extend left more than usual. Hoping someone knows who this is or can pin down a likely maker based on style/age/etc. Thanks in advance... Robert Alan Green's book Marks of American Silversmith shows a mark very similar to your mark as unknown. It has the same very elongated upper arm on the B and the I looks like your I. IP: Logged |
