  2. 5" tall silver teapot hindged top w/14 stamped inside lid, markings REED & BARTON SILVER SOLDEREL, Numbered (3 4 5 2 P) and 14 on the side of that, HOTEL SOUTHERLAND,underneath the numbers.
  3. Creamer & Sugar server abt. 2-1/2" tall, markings Wm. ROGERS, number 625, w/star.

From your description of the marks, it sounds like the first three items are American silverplate. The fourth item is a mystery.

Item #2: Note that the mark is probably "Silver Soldered". This mark was used only on plated wares.

Item #3: There are more than 100 different "Rogers" marks that have been documented, but I don't recognize this one.

Item #4: I can't find a "Shrewsburg" mark documented anywhere for any kind of silver.

If you could supply photos of the items and close-up photos of the marks on items #3 and 4, it might be possible to give you better answers.

Did you have any specific questions?

Since these are all different wares by different makers, it would help if you would post them as new and separate topics. (If you need help with the photos, you can click on "How to Post Photos" at the top of the page.)

I wonder if this might not be "Eagle Wm. Rogers Star". He might not realize what the eagle mark is.

Do you think it might be Shrewsbury not Shrewsburg? The Engligh Province of Shrewsbury has had goldsmiths since the middle ages, but from what I've read, that mark is usually an uncrowned leopard's head.

#2 is hotel ware, made for the "Hotel Southerland". "3452P" is the catalog number, "14" is the capacity of the teapot, probably in ounces.

Need help with the photos?
