The number on the bottom was a factory number, indicating the shape or form. It, unfortunately, isn't any help to us. Could this be a covered entree dish, vegetable dish? Tureen (tho' I think you'd know if it was a tureen)? It clearly sounds like something for food service, and the "heavily decorated with flowers" sounds like a Kirk-esque repousse design dating from the 1890-1910 period. IP: Logged
