I have a Wallace serving spoon engraved with a date of 1908. Its a lovely floral pattern, probably plate. Identifying marks are "A1" and "Pat. June 6, 02". Any suggestions? More importantly, perhaps, are there any standard web databases where I could look this up? I have found all the British Hallmark databases, of course, but few for American pieces. IP: Logged |

In 1902 Wallace patented two silver plate patterns, Troy and Floral. The most prolifically produced pattern was the multi-motif Floral pattern. If there is a flower in the design of the pattern then it is most likely the Floral pattern. If not then I would guess that it might be the Troy pattern. Posting a photo would help us to really identify the pattern. IP: Logged |
