I have some spoons made by Simon L. & George H. Rogers Company. Can you tell me something about my spoons? As far as I know the were made in the 1800's. I also have some spoons made by the R. Wallace in 1839 can you tell me something about them too? [This message has been edited by Mod assistant (edited 03-04-2024).] IP: Logged |

Hi, and welcome to the Forums, Your spoons are all silverplated. The Simeon L. & George H. Rogers Company was founded around 1900. They were acquired by William A. Rogers in 1918, and became part of Oneida Silversmiths in 1929. Most pieces with your backstamp were made between 1900 and 1918, although the trademark continued to be used after that. The Wallace spoons were made by the company which later became Wallace Silversmiths. 1839 refers to the founding date of the original company, not the date of the spoons. Wallace began selling silverplate under their own name in 1897, using the mark you see on your spoons. So, your spoons date from sometime after 1897. I hope this helps! Brent IP: Logged |
