On Mother's day, June & I were invited to give a presentation on Derby Silver at the Osborne Homestead Museum in Derby, Connecticut. While there, a collector shared with us a variation on the Derby Silver Co. mark that is not in Rainwater or in Silver Magazine. We took a quick photo so we could share it with you.
By the way the, the Osborne Homestead Museum and the adjoining Kellogg Environmental Center & Gardens is worth a visit. In the museum, there is a small mix of interesting silver & silver plate. We liked the mixed metal Dominick & Haff bowl and spoon. The Museum, The Center and Gardens are set off Route 8 (Route 34 exit) and as you drive the 1.5 miles on Route 34 you may get the idea to turn around – keep going – your reward will be to discover this quiet trio of state run facilities.
