I found a piece marked with the Derby Silver Company logo, and the number 2887 stamped underneath. Could someone please help me determine what, and how old this is? IP: Logged |

My recollection is that the Derby Silver Co was founded in Derby, Connecticut in the late 19th Century. At that time they manufacture sterling items. The Derby silver items I have seen are well designed silver plate pieces. Sometimes with a hammered finish. I believe they merged into the International Silver Co. The numbers probably signify a style and an inventory tag. I have never seen a catalogue showing the items by this firm. IP: Logged |

What does "DOG'S NAME" mean? Is it a dish? How big is it? What style is it? IP: Logged |
