My husband purchased this set at an antique shop. Supposedly it was from an estate sale. The markings are a beaded crown w/a cross top ornament- Fancy letters each in a square B, S, G or C (cannot make the last letter out.) On one piece it has Silver on Copper and the crown w/the same letter pattern and underneath it has REG. I can send a picture if necessary. But I have been looking all over the web and cannot locate these markings anywhere. Please help! Thanks IP: Logged |

It sounds like the Birmingham Silver Co., Inc. of Yalesville, Connecticut. The firm seems to have been in operation in Yalesville from 1957 to at least 1974. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Absolutely right, WGS. We had an earlier post about the same marks a while back. So, you have a rather modern, but nice, American silverplate tea set. Brent IP: Logged |
