Hi there, I know nothing about silver or antiques so please forgive my ignorance in this post, however my mother recently passed away and I would like to get some history about a tea set that she left me. Even though it is only silver plated, she was very proud of it, and I believe it belonged to her mother before her. I am trying to determine how old it is and who made it, as well as any other information. There are four pieces - coffee, tea, sugar and creamer and they are of a very simple design. The coffee and tea pieces have what appear to be brown wooden handles. On the bottom is inscribed "Cheltenham and Company Made in Sheffield, England." There are two standing unicorns on each side - one facing left and one facing right. Below that "EPNS" is stamped and then below that the number "7153". Thank you for any information you can provide for me. If it would be helpful to post a picture, I can try to figure out how to do that. Thanks! IP: Logged |

Cheltenham & Co., Ltd. (Sheffield, England) became a division of the National Silver Co., New York City, some time before 1950. Photos would be helpful. See "How to Post Photos" at the top of the page. IP: Logged |
