I know almost nothing about this, but it looks like a silver cream and sugar set. The owner thinks its from the Civil War era. They're not it the best of condition, badly tarnished with some minor dents. But they're very pretty and ornately carved. The following is stamped on the bottom. CINCINNATUS Any information or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, IP: Logged |

Queen City Silver Co. existed from c 1888 to 1949. They specialized in silverplate holloware and mahogany novelties and were located in Cincinnati, Ohio (Rainwater). Cincinnatus was one of their product lines. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the information, wev. Do you have any ideas about how I would determine more accurately how old it is and what its value might be? Thanks. Larry IP: Logged |

The style of the piece can give a rough idea of the dating; that is probably the best you can do with goods from this company. We don't do valuations here, but a search on ebay for Queen City in the silver category found a pair of tea sets, one modern and one Victorian (by design) up for auction. IP: Logged |

Wow, that second set from 1888 is exactly it. Thank you so much for your help, I'll relay the information. Larry IP: Logged |
