I am trying to identify the maker of a soup ladle with marks inside the bowl readable with a loupe - A. Lejeune on one side of the handle and in a square on the other side of the handle are a criss-crossed fork and spoon with a "12" above the crossing and a five-pointed star below. On the left side of the intersection is an 'A" and on the right side, an "L". The style is European and well done, but I can't find information on this man. Any information would be gratefully received. Thank you. B. Roberts brenron@attcanada.ca IP: Logged |

Although I can't be certain, your piece sounds like French silverplate. The location of the marks inside the bowl is chracteristic of French silver in general, but the marks are not those found on solid silver articles. The name also sounds French. I hope this helps somewhat! Brent IP: Logged |
