Hi, Sorry no one replied to you more quickly. Forbes Silver Company was originally a spin-off of the giant Meriden Britannia Company of Meriden, CT. It was formed in 1894, and was absorbed into International Silver Co. in 1898, along with Meriden Britannia and a large number of other silverplating firms. The Forbes trademark continued to be used for many years after the formation of International Silver, as many of the companies continued to operate quasi-independently. I believe the trademark was used at least until the 1950's, long after the company ceased to exist. I hope this helps. Basically, your piece was made by International Silver Co. Brent IP: Logged |
