Pair of silver-plated Chistofle Candelabra, They are 14 3/4 " tall by 14" diameter on the top by 6"diameter At the base, they are very heavy around 12 pounds each with 5 candles Very good condition. I would like to know how old are they. Regards, Adriana IP: Logged |

GOOD QUESTION!I had a Christofle silver and Lalique porcelaine "expert" give a class for a handful of friends about 2 months ago. She kindly had made copies of info on these marks for me. I've yet to find the books they came from - but could probably track her down and ask. It's certainly a book "en francais..." ------------------ IP: Logged |

Stephen, I'm going to lunch with the Christofle lady next week. She's bringing the book that she had used to copy the Christofle marks. I'll get the book title and author info then. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Well I found out where the Christofle info came from, but there is good and bad news. the bad is that it is not abvailable for purchase since the info was originally printed in a 1991 issue of Dossier de L'Art magazine. This sweet parisian took the time and effort to copy all 75 pages (no kidding! 75!!!) So I now have quite a bit of info on the company. But the best news is that she invited me to set up a date and she would take me to the factory in St. Denis. Who said the french were not friendly!?! PS:Fares are coming back down. Anyone else wanna go. ------------------ [This message has been edited by doobees (edited 04-21-2003).] IP: Logged |

If they let you take photos at the factory, it might (hint) make an interesting post! IP: Logged |

Absolument! I'll be back to the States in May for a couple weeks - and then hope they'll let me tour the factory in June . ------------------ IP: Logged |
