I inherited a elctro=plated tea pot, sugar and creamer from my G.g. grandmother, who got it aroung 1919. Her husband went to Ireland and came home with it. The marks haven't been i.d. yet, I have found nothing in any books so far. The first mark appears to be a trumpet, with a chord hanging from it. then: D B $ S-- i think then: EPBM- from Britannica Metal then: 4363 then: 4 These are on the bottom of the teapot. IP: Logged |

It definitely sounds like English silverplate, as you have probably already determined. Are you sure about the DB&S? It sound like it might be a mark of James Dixon and Sons of Sheffield, who uses a corded bugle in some of their marks. The EPBM does indeed mean Electro-plate on Britannia Metal. Hope this helps!
