I acquired this salt spoon in France and have been having a hard time identifying the mark on the spoon. It is a single hallmark with what appears to be a shield with a triple point crown in it and the letters YF in the upper right hand corner (very hard to read). There is also the letter I in teh bottom right hand corner. Any help would be appreciated.

The square mark punched inside the bowl of the spoon indicates to me that this is a French silverplate maker's mark instead of a hallmark.

Sorry, I don't recognize the maker -- documentation on French silverplate marks is almost impossible to find. Perhaps another forum member will recognize the mark.
