Hello, I have a lovely pair of heavily plated candelabra that have an "H" impressed in several areas. It is the only mark. The candelabra seem to be quite old, as does the form of the "H." There is a tiny mark to the right of the "H", as well, something like a tiny cross? Does anyone have any insight? I have no idea of the origin of this set! Thanks! IP: Logged |

Welcome to the forums. I can't find any American or English mark that matches your description, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. Documentation on silverplate marks of other countries is pretty much non-existent. If you can post a photo of the candelabra, it might help. These can be difficult to date, even when they do have a mark -- copying of earlier styles has been going on since the earliest days of silver plating. IP: Logged |

I'd like to see the H's too. I have a couple of Swedish marks and those in Tandy's that I can try to compare them to. ------------------ IP: Logged |
