I have recently inherited a set of utensils from my grand-mother who inherited them from her aunt who had raised her. On the back of the utensils are the following markings: a symbol that looks sort of like a bird (not sure if it is or not very small and hard to see), followed by WM.ROGERS, folled by a star and then further on there is an I and an S . I haven't been able to find the name of the pattern or the age of the set. Anyone know somewhere I could look for information? or have information? Thank you for the help. MAL. IP: Logged |

quote: Mal, the mark is the Eagle Wm. Rogers Star mark which belonged to the William Rogers Co. of Hartford, CT. This company, along with a great many others, were members of the conglomerate known as International Silver which later became a company in their own right. The IS shows that this probably is a pattern that was produced by International Silver after they became a company, and could indicate a later pattern. A picture of the pattern would be most helpful. ------------------ IP: Logged |
