I have recently purchased a Philip Ashberry jug, but have very little information regarding age etc Have included a photo, but couldn't get a clear image of the makers mark - so have re-created it in the image file Any information most appreciated IP: Logged |

Hi, A quick search shows dates from 1840-1887, mostly teapots etc. He's also listed under Phillip. Vague, but I hope it helps. Jim IP: Logged |

There are a few references to Philip Ashberry pieces on the internet. The Burchard Gallery in Florida recently had a silverplate biscuit barrel with the Registered design mark for 1882. Ashberry also produced pewter. A claret jug is listed which appeared in a catalogue of 1886. My guess, based on the style of your piece, would be in the 1880s. The design registration mark was dropped in 1883 - possibly suggesting a date after this. IP: Logged |
