can anyone help me please i have an egg cruet set with the markings D&A EPNS and number 5483 on the bottom i have no idea what this all means [snip ... SM] thanks IP: Logged |

The only D$A listed in Rainwater & Redfield is the mark of Daniel & Arter Globe Nevada Silver Works from Birmingham, England. Just the name gives you a sense of how deceptive they are trying to be! R&R say that they made flatware, and I have seen quite a bit of flatware with their marks over the years (Nevada Silver being the most common in my experience). Would it be possible for you to make a photo of the mark? If the mark matches their marks in any way, it could well mean we have identified them as a maker of hollowware as well! ------------------ IP: Logged |
