There are so many hundreds of makers in existence that they only way for anyone to identify a specific mark is to see a picture of it. If you can get one, post it here and we will all do what we can to help you identify the maker. ------------------ IP: Logged |

If you're looking for the Chester, England, sterling silver hallmark, see this recent posting: http://www.smpub.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001236.html This piece is Chester 1912/3. Working back on the alphabetical sequence, 1901/2 should show the letter A in the same style and shield. However, also note that the year change of letter was not necessarily on the 1st. of January, so your piece may have the last letter of the previous series. IP: Logged |
