I have obtained an open salt with matching spoon which look like sterling silver to me,but sure may be plate,...I unfortunately collect fine pottery not silver. I would like to find out about this mark if I could. The salt has a glass insert but it is not removeable. The same mark is on the salt and the spoon, and is "310MMET" It is very clear especially on the spoon. Thanks in advance for your assistance....Nana IP: Logged |

I am guessing that there may be other small marks on the salt or the spoon. 310MMET may be a production number, but does not tell us who the maker is or what the material is. You may need a magnifying glass to see any other marks. A photo of the marks would also be very helpful. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the information, I have looked this thing over 3-4 times with a loop and cannot find another mark. I am beginning to think maybe it is not even silver or plate, maybe pewter? It sure looks silver to me....have sent a few pictures, hope it helps. Nana IP: Logged |

I am guessing that it is white metal and not silver or silverplate. It looks to be European based on the design. IP: Logged |
