Hi All, I collect old silver and ancient Egyptian scarabs. When I found a few knives made my the Smith Silver Company that had scarabs on the handles, I bought them. I am assuming they date to the 1920's...can anyone tell me the name of the pattern? Thanks Russell A. Rudzwick IP: Logged |

Hi Russell, your pattern appears to be Smith's Antique Egyptian also known as Egyptian and Scarab. Hagen gives a patent date of 1908 for it. This is a full line pattern, everything was made in it. Production appears to have continued into the late 1920's. The demitasse spoons were made even longer, and were apparently a premium offer. I have never seen much of this pattern, but what I have seen was very interesting. Hope this answers your question. IP: Logged |
