I have a lovely set of late 18th or early 19th sporting buttons, undoubtedly European. They are silverplate, and are stamped with the maker's mark "WG" in a darkened rectangle. I've looked in my (few) silver books, and have scoured the internet, with no success. Is anyone familiar with this mark? Thanks so much for any help. IP: Logged |

Hi, these sound like the sort of thing that really intrigue many of the posters here. I really don't know if plated buttons are very well researched, but would make a suggestion. If you could post photos in the general silver forum, you might get some responses from highly knowlegable people. Thanks for asking, Dale IP: Logged |
