Hello all. I recently purchased a silverplate bowl at an estate sale and now I'm trying to identify the maker and age. It has the following marks: A crown with the word "alpha" under it. Under that are the letters H B & H, each stamped in a different shaped badge. Under the letters are the number 1415. Under the numbers is stamped "MADE IN ENGLAND" and finally under that are the numbers 237-15. I read that when a silver item is stamped "MADE IN ENGLAND" that indicates that the piece is silverplate. That's about all could find on these marks. If anyone can shed more light on this I would surely appreciate it. I have pictures but haven't figured out how to post them yet. Thanks again for any information. I think I've figured out how to post the pictures I have. Go to the link listed below...thanks again for any help.
