Hi, I recently found an E.G. Webster & Sons EPNS piece to give to my sister in-law whom collects hammermetal and the like. I have been researching the web to determine some background on the piece, to provide her. (Approx. date of making, name of piece, etc.) I have not been able to find anything similar. It is a type of basket or serving plate with a handle. The center of the handle has a section of what appears to be wicker strapping. There are four edges of the plate that bend upward, leaving two scoops where the handle ends connect and then two open scoops. The center circle of the plate sits slightly lower as a base with an ornate floral and leaf design. In the middle there is an etched letter that I believe is an "L". (I'm not sure) Then beyond that circle to within an inch of the edges there are two rows of punched design. The first row looks like a pencil on end with a small dot alternating between the top points and then the next row looks like a church stain glass window shape. These punched designs go completely through the metal. Any help identifying this piece or possibly pointing where to go look would be greatly appreciated. THANKS! IP: Logged |

A picture would really help. Please see the FAQ part of this forum, at the top of the silverplate section. Thanks, Dale IP: Logged |
