I bought a silver tea service for my wife. The dealer said it was an old English set. It has two small pots, a larger hinged pot, a sugar and creamer and a matching tray. The pots have a fluted pattern on the body and have ebony handles. There is only one mark stamped on the bottom, a pair of crossed keys on a shield. Can anyone tell me about this? I would like to tell my wife something of the history of the set IP: Logged |

This is an extract from my Bradbury's :- The Cross Keys mark was reproduced extensively on articles plated by the process of electro-deposition mainly in the late 19th and early 20th Century. So your item seems to be Sheffield silverplate. IP: Logged |
