Hello, my name is Katy and I just aquired some silver plate (I think) and need help identifying it. The 1st item is a bowl on legs with a top, very ornate. I have determined it is an Elkington & Co piece. I think I have also determined the date to be around 1835-45. It has an "M" in a rectangle. The marks are not in a line however. The "M" is in the middle with a crown and the E & C above the "M". To the left of the "M" is what looks like an anchor. To the right of the "M" is what looks like: & C (the C has lines through it). Then on the bottom of the "M" is a V in a triangle. All the other marks have a rectangle around them, except the crown. Also on the lid is a crest of some type with an arm holding a triangle looking flag. On the opposite side of the lid are initials. I believe they are JA or GA as they are in a very ornate script. The handle of the lid is a grape vine and right below the handle are leaves and grapes. The handle can twist and be removed. I do not have a camera where I could take pics of it, but maybe able to borrow one if need be. The 2nd items are, I believe, salt cellars on 3 legs with fluted edges on the tops, (3 ea) with HA EA FA in rectangles (separate) then to the side EPNS. Below is a #4987, below that looks like a hand holding leaves. On one of them below that an arrow pointing down. Another has what looks like a "O" inside a circle and the third has what looks like a circle with 3 lines going up and one down. There is also a 5 engraved on all 3. If anyone could please help me on this, as I am new to this subject, I would really appreciate it. Thank you. IP: Logged |
