please help me identify a metal vase. On the bottom is a crest with a loin on one side and a unicorn on the other. in the crest are the letters E-P and under those are the letters N-S. Then under the lion is the letter L and under the unicorn is the letter B. please help me to understand this mark. Also on the rim of the vase are old single wing airplanes and wreaths, spaced next to eachother. Thank you. linda IP: Logged |

Ideally, you would need to post a photograph of the item in order for someone to decifer the marks correctly. The letters EPNS normally stand for "Electro Plated Nickel Silver" and denote your item is silver plated onto Nickel. Please try and post a photograph. IP: Logged |

This sounds very much like a trophy vase. The makers of these are somewhat obscure, much more research is needed. Beyond that the airplane motif sounds really interesting. Could you post a picture? Does this have a base of another material? Could there be a lid, that is missing. How big is this? Really intriguing mystery. IP: Logged |

Thank you for your help. This vase is about 12 1/2 inches tall. I will post a picture as soon as I can figure out how. linda

Lehman Brothers Silverware Company of New York City; listed from the 1920s to 1960 as manufacturers of silverplate holloware. There was a minor design craze based on Lindburg's flight which may explain the motif. IP: Logged |

Yes. The plane looks like The Spirit of St. Louis, Charles Lindberg's plane. IP: Logged |
