Hi, I recently inherited a set of silver pastry forks and would love to know what the markings mean on the handles. They are: a rectangle with RR in it, a S in a shield shape, a back to front R combined with a forward facing R in an "open-book" shape and EP in an oval. They are too small for me to pick out with my camera so I can't post a photo. There is also the sequence R0773916 at the top of the handle. Any advice or help would really be appreciated, thanks everyone! IP: Logged |

Hi, The forks are English silverplate. Not sure of the maker, but the RD (not RO) number is an English design registry mark. If you search the Forums for "registry" you should find several other examples. Brent IP: Logged |
