As I have said before I have just begun to look at silver. My grandmother had this for ever. I do not know the age. I have looked and looked. All I can really find are broad strokes regarding Meriden Britannia Co. I don't know if this pattern has a name. However, my main question is value and with the poor repair work that had been done. How much does it effect the value? I also have the identical pattern teapot in a lrger size withou a lid. Thanks again. Jemima moon

We don't, as a general rule, discuss values. I can say that condition, when it comes to silverplate, is paramount. The value of your piece lays in its family sentiment. IP: Logged |

This is a very nice teapot from the 1870's or 80's. It looks like someone set it on a burner to boil water. This is not a good idea. It was then repaired, rather poorly it appears. Does it hold water? IP: Logged |

It is always nice to have things of sentimental value from your family. They should be displayed proudly and passed on to your children so they can enjoy the memories that are imbued in them. IP: Logged |
